Jennifer Lopez performs a duet and introduces the child Emme with the pronouns “they/they”: “You are my favorite duet partner of all time”
Jennifer Lopez performed a duet with her “favorite duet partner,” her 14-year-old child Emme, this week.
The 52-year-old superstar performed at the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation’s Blue Diamond Gala at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles on Thursday.
The Grammy winner wore high-waisted green pants, a bra top and a matching feathered coat as she introduced her special guest, using the pronouns them/they.
“The last time we performed together was at a big stadium like this and I asked them to sing with me all the time and they won’t. So this is a very special occasion. You are very, very busy. Booked. And expensive,” she joked.
“They cost me when they come out. But they are worth every penny because they are my favorite duet partners of all time. So if you’d treat me to something,” the Marry Me actress said while calling her partner onto the stage.
Emme wore light pink knee-length shorts and a matching button-down shirt with pink socks, black ankle boots and a large sports hat.
The I’m Real artist shares Emme and her twin Max with ex-husband Marc Anthony, 53.
The young singer wore a rainbow-colored microphone as they began the mother-child performance of Christina Perris A Thousand Years for the annual fundraiser raising funds for education, health care, homelessness and social justice in the City of Angels.
A video of the loving introduction shared by Christina the Supermom on TikTok has been viewed almost 50,000 times.
Fans on social media praise Jennifer for lovingly introducing her child with the pronouns she/her.
“Give it up for my baby,” cried the proud mother at the end of the performance. One fan commented, “Oh JLo, respect the pronouns.” Another said, “The best parents love and support their kids – go JLO and Emme!”
The last time the two appeared together was at the Superbowl Halftime Show in 2020.
JLo’s documentary Halftime, described as an intimate look at the artist as she reflects on her evolution as an artist and navigates the latter half of her career, debuted June 14 on Netflix.
