The family of a Polish woman claiming to be kidnapped toddler Madeleine McCann have reportedly refused to take a DNA test that could solve the mystery of whether she really is the missing girl.

The mother of Julia Faustyna, 21, will not hand over a genetic sample but insists she has documents proving Faustyna is her biological daughter, a private investigator told The UK Sun.

“I spoke personally to Julia’s mother and told her that we will make her as safe and secure as she needs, but she still refuses to take the test,” Fia Johansson, representing Faustyna, told the point of sale.

“She claims to have Julia’s birth certificate, but we’re afraid you could easily forge it. I think we need to force the mother or a member of Julia’s family to take the DNA test,” added Johansson, who is also a psychic and psychologist.

If one of Faustyna’s immediate family members agrees to take a DNA test, it could provide immediate insight into whether her claims are true, Johansson said.

“We could solve that. But they refuse,” she told the outlet, which did not report the names of Faustyna’s family members.

Faustyna, also known as Julia Wendell or Julia Wandt, has documented apparent physical similarities between her and McCann online – including facial birthmarks and a distinct brown patch on each girl’s right iris.

In her social media posts, the Polish woman also said she had been abused by a German pedophile, without elaborating.

She claims to be suspicious of her parents in part because she’s never seen photos of her pregnant mother.

McCann’s parents, Gerry and Kate McCann, previously agreed to take a DNA test, but Johansson says there’s “no need” to disturb them.

Simply doing a DNA test for Faustina’s parents could show she’s related to them — and rule out the possibility that she’s the kidnapped girl, she said.

Meanwhile, a second private investigator linked to the case, Francisco Marco, has cast doubt on her claims – and sources have said they could scare Kate and Gerry McCann.

“It’s causing unnecessary pain for Kate and Gerry,” a source told The Sun. “So many false claims have been made over the years and they need no more.”

Johansson said she became involved in the McCann case after a detective first contacted her in 2019 and then got back in touch after Faustyna claimed to be the kidnapped girl.

“I spoke personally to Julia’s mother and told her that we will protect and protect her in the way that she needs, but she still refuses to take the test,” said Fia Johansson, who is representing Faustyna. Instagram / @picture, Persian medium

“They said they didn’t know yet if Julia was legit or not, but that it was worth checking out,” she said.

McCann disappeared from her bed while vacationing in Portugal in May 2007. She was 3 years old.

The missing girl, who would now be 19, has been presumed dead.
