Justin Timberlake's upcoming album might be his most personal yet.
Timberlake, 42, spoke to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 ahead of his appearance on Saturday Night Live this weekend about how his new music will give fans a “real” perspective on his life.
“With some songs I was able to look back at the past and have a real, unfractured perspective of what it was, because they always say… you always hear that there is never a truth. “There just is everyone's perspective on what happened. But to really look at it and be able to metabolize and express my perspective on it, I don't think I've ever really done that before,” Timberlake explained.

Fans can expect the album, titled “Everything I Thought It Was,” out March 15, to feature songs that are “introspective and “incredibly honest.”
It follows 2018's Man in the Woods and was introduced on Thursday with the single “Selfish” – an R&B mid-tempo ballad. The singer performed the track for the first time at an intimate free performance for his fans in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee.
His new album will soon be heard live, as Timberlake announced on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that he will be going on tour starting in April.
