A little over two years have passed since the death of Diego Armando Maradona. A time when the people behind the death of “Pelusa” were not quite clear. With some names behind his death, caught between “trials” and guilt, a final trial is still awaited to determine the verdict of those involved. This Tuesday could be the key to meeting him as the San Isidro Appeals Chamber decides through an oral hearing the death of the Argentine legend.
One of the options being considered to settle a verdict for the eight defendants charged with his death is that of “possible premeditated murder,” something that could have a milder qualification. Those charged with the death threaten a prison sentence of eight to 25 years.
This hearing was requested by some of the lawyers for the individuals being tried. Specifically, three of them: the psychiatrist Agustina Cosachovthe nurse Dahiana Gisela Madrid and the clinician Pedro de Spagna. The defense wants to uncover the arguments about their clients, reconstruct the facts and give those named the opportunity to present their arguments.
If what was established in this hearing about the eight accused is confirmed, the case will go into the lottery, with which the court determines the date on which the oral hearing will take place. Of course, it probably won’t be before the second half of 2023.
