The SAG Awards kicked off on a high fashion note tonight as Hollywood toasted the red carpet at one of the biggest events of the awards season, aside from the prestigious Oscars.

Hollywood's elite graced the red carpet, which was home to some of the biggest names in the business… and also some of the season's most bizarre fashion trends.

In true awards show fashion, the 30th annual SAGs, held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, was filled with plenty of style highs and a plethora of fashion lows, with several early arrivals putting on a pathetically embarrassing performance even before the official audience had begun red carpet coverage .

Ali Wong made quite a stunning appearance on the red carpet in a huge dress with diamond-shaped embellishments hanging down the sides – making the comedian look not unlike a pigeon.

The awkward ensemble could easily have been a costume from a high school production of Alice in Wonderland, but whatever the inspiration behind it, the dress was without a doubt one of the strangest styles seen on the red carpet .

“Dance Moms” star Maddie Ziegler, who is usually very stylish on the red carpet, also missed the mark in her tattered cream dress that looked like it was decorated with strips of old toilet paper thanks to the hanging sheer strings the cuddly silhouette.

To make matters worse, the design disintegrated into several stringy shreds, giving the impression that it had been dragged through several thorny bushes before appearing on the red carpet.

“Killers of the Flower Moon” star Cara Jade Myers grabbed attention for all the wrong reasons with her bright neon ensemble. A very bizarre orange top had lots of pink, yellow and orange tassels hanging from it, giving the impression that she was ready to attend an extravagant carnival rather than walk the red carpet at a glitzy celebrity event.

Laverne Cox was one of those guests and chose to prioritize scandal over style in her bra-baring ensemble. She paired it with a unique cropped military style jacket and a long black velvet skirt which added a very gothic touch with a thick beaded choker around her neck.

“Kissing Booth” star Joey King pulled off a rare fashion move in her rather drab dress, which included a beige skirt with vintage-style floral motifs that looked no different than a pair of curtains you'd find in a suburban neighborhood from Goodwill.

Combined with the tacky '90s-style headband that snaked through her locks and paired with sheer black gloves, the entire look made it seem more like she walked straight from the mall to a tacky high school prom a red carpet event.

Speaking of prom, Abbott Elementary star Chris Perfetti's brown tuxedo, which included bootcut pants, looked not unlike an outfit you'd expect a fashion-challenged teenager to wear for his high school event in the 1980s – although fortunately he decided to forego the ruffled shirt.
