Actor Luciano Szafir, 53, has been hospitalized again after undergoing surgery to remove his colostomy bag. In contact with syringesthe artist’s press office announced that since yesterday he is in the Vera Cruz Hospital in Campinas (SP).
“I felt unwell and decided to go to the hospital,” the artist’s team explained. André Brandalise, the doctor in charge of monitoring the actor’s condition.
“Luciano is still recovering from the complex surgery he recently had and presented an image of the subocclusion on Friday afternoon,” the specialist explained.
Intestinal subocclusion, also known as a bowel obstruction, occurs when the impulses that carry the fecal cake to the anus are disrupted, impairing or disrupting passage in the intestine. President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) presented a similar picture in January this year.
“The actor had to be rushed to the hospital to give the bowels rest. In this way, the organ can function normally again,” added André Brandalise.
Luciano Szafir’s team reiterates that according to the analysis of the treating doctor, the condition is considered stable, but a discharge is not yet forecast.
The colostomy bag was attached to Luciano Szafir’s abdominal wall ten months ago due to complications from Covid19. He appeared with a medical instrument at São Paulo Fashion Week in December 2021.
Complications from Covid
Szafir was first diagnosed with Covid19 in February 2021. The second time, in July 2021, he remained in the Intensive Care Unit of the Copa Star Hospital in Rio de Janeiro. He was transferred to the scene of the crime after being admitted to the Samaritan Hospital, where he had been hospitalized since June 22 after the first symptoms appeared.
He underwent emergency surgery to treat abdominal bleeding caused by complications of the disease. Copa Star hospital doctor João Pantoja told O Globo newspaper at the time that the actor had a pulmonary embolism before the procedure. The doctor stated that this was due to complications of anticoagulant therapy, which is common in Covid19 patients.
The actor tested positive for a third time in January this year while undergoing routine checkups. This time he was asymptomatic.
