The Sertanejas Maiara and Maraisa had to change the name of an album they have with Marília Mendonça. The project that was called “Patroas 35%” has been changed to “Festa das Patroas 35%”. The Bahia judge prohibited the singers from using the mark.

The duo’s council said in a note that the process with the brand would be handled in the “best legal way possible”. In addition, the note states that “historically, the three artists have already written their names”.

Also according to the press office, the change to “Festa das Patroas” is a wish of the duo to go “back to the beginning”. They already had this brand since 2015, but the concession was made in 2017.

Marília Mendonça, Maiara and Maraisa launched the project “As Patroas” in October last year and went on tour this year to tell the story of their friendship. The project was put on hold after the accident that killed Marília.

For the Justice of Bahia, singer Daisy Soares owns the trademark “As Patroas,” and both the duo and the WorkShow office that handles their careers are prohibited from using the trademark “A Patroa” in the singular or plural. , in any commercial product and in physical or internet advertising.

The judge in the case also ordered payment of a fine of R$100,000 in the event of noncompliance with the decision. The duo and the Bureau won 15 days to defend themselves in court.
