Keir Johnston, the groom who went viral over a dress and his true colors, is charged with the alleged attempted murder of his wife, according to the Times. Last week he appeared before the High Court in Glasgow, Scotland.

According to the publication, Johnston has been charged with nearly 11 years of domestic violence and controlling his wife. In March of that year he attempted to assassinate her.

Allegations leveled against him include holding his wife against a wall, pointing a knife in her direction, isolating his wife from friends and monitoring his finances. Johnston denies all allegations. The case is scheduled to be heard in 2024.

Johnston and his wife went viral in 2015 with a dress that became known as the “dress that broke the internet.” After posting a photo of the dress worn by the bride’s mother to the wedding, the garment sparked debate online about its true color: blue and black or white and gold.
