Martha Stewart shared some sad news with her Instagram followers on Sunday.

The 80-year-old lifestyle guru revealed her 4 dogs killed her “defenseless” cat after mistaking it for an intruder.

“Buried the beautiful and unusual Princess Peony. Mistaking her for an intruder, the four dogs killed her defenseless little self. I will miss her very much. RIP beauty,” Stewart captioned a picture of three men digging a small grave.

Her comments section is filled with condolences, with Kris Jenner commenting on several crying emojis and Douglas Friedman saying, “Martha… I’m so sorry to hear that.”

Stewart posted a second picture of a close-up of her late pet, captioned “That was the Princess Peony.”

The author shared that her cat was a dominant Calico Persian who turned 12 last year.

Stewart took to her Instagram in August and captioned a picture of Princess Peony and her other cat, saying: “My cats feel relieved because the four dogs are on holiday. “

Widely known as an animal lover, Stewart has been documenting her pets and her farm, which is home to a variety of animals, via Instagram for years.

In February, Stewart and Snoop Dogg hosted “Puppy Bowl XVIII” in Los Angeles ahead of the 2022 Superbowl.

The two stars have collaborated several times in the past, most recently on Snoop and Martha’s Very Tasty Halloween. The stars welcomed experienced bakers, who split into groups of three, dubbed “Scare Squads,” and tasked with building a “fully sensory 12×12 Halloween world” that’s equal parts spooky and delicious, according to the streamer.

Fans first got a glimpse of Stewart and Snoop, 49, together on screen in 2008 when the rapper appeared on “Martha.” They later teamed up for “Martha and Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party” on VH1 and continue to appear in commercials together.
