The Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) reports it was called to Mercier Avenue, very close to de Brouage Street, around 9:30 a.m. Sunday. The first call reported a “firearm projectile impact” on a triplex.

When they arrived on site, the first police officers were able to confirm the impact of a bullet in the entrance door of the building.

“According to initial information, a shot may have been fired at the building yesterday evening. There were no injuries,” said agent Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for the SPVM, on the subject.

However, a secure area was set up to allow investigators and forensic identification technicians to work. They must determine the exact causes and circumstances of this event in the coming days.

So far there have been no arrests in this case.
