The Bills will lose at least a few key defensive players for Sunday’s divisional matchup against the Dolphins.

Head coach Sean McDermott announced Friday that safety Micah Hyde, cornerback Dane Jackson and defensive tackle Jordan Phillips will be out for week three.

Hyde and Jackson are both dealing with neck injuries. Phillips has a hamstring injury that has kept him from training this week.

The Bills can also be without safety Jordan Poyer, who has a foot injury. Poyer was a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice but did not attend Thursday.

“He’s one of those guys that’s in that group – and we have a couple of those guys, maybe three or four of them – that [it] Whether they make it remains to be seen [play] on Sunday,” McDermott said in his video conference call on Friday. “So today I will know a little bit more. It may not be final after today, but we accept it one day at a time.”

Given the strength of Miami’s receiving corps — Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle each had over 170 receiving yards last week — there are some significant concerns in Buffalo’s secondary school for this week.

“Listen, I know we have a number of injuries here, but I remain very confident in our football team, very confident in the back end,” McDermott said.

Buffalo’s final injury report with game status will be released later Friday.
