MUST SEE: A natural hat trick for Sean Monahan

Nothing could stop Sean Monahan in front of his old fans at Calgary's Scotiabank Saddledome, the Winnipeg Jets player shocking the Flames with a natural hat trick in a 6-3 loss on Monday.

The man who also wore the Montreal Canadiens jersey earlier this season accomplished the feat in less than six minutes. The Jets didn't fail to highlight the achievement with a photo montage with the team jersey pulled over the CH's.

It wasn't the prettiest of hat tricks, as Monahan always scored on a shot return near the Flames cage, but it was still his second career hat trick, the first since November 2017.

Nothing too exciting for the 29-year-old, who gave an unenthusiastic interview to TSN between the first and second half. Let's say we've seen better in terms of enthusiasm.

“I tried to shoot at the net. Two on the power play. I think we distribute the puck better to get first and second chances. I tried to assert myself and got some positive results,” he explained.

After his good first 20 minutes, Monahan received a penalty at the start of the second minute and the Flames took advantage of the opportunity to draw 3-3. It was the second of five goals in a row scored by the local favorite.

Jonathan Huberdeau scored two points. The Quebecer is having a good month of February with eight points in seven games.
