NHL Rumor Corner: Alex Tuch could be expensive

The Buffalo Sabers are at risk of being eliminated from the playoffs again in 2024 and some teams have reportedly contacted them about forward Alex Tuch, but the compensation sought could be quite high.

According to Sportsnet hockey expert Elliotte Friedman, who wrote about it in the “32 Thoughts” column, general manager Kevyn Adams' organization places high value on the 27-year-old. Therefore, it is by no means guaranteed that Tuch will change his address by the National Hockey League trade deadline on March 8th.

The American was the author of the decisive goal in the 3-2 win against the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday and has collected 16 goals and 22 assists for 38 points in 49 games this season. He is in the fifth campaign of a seven-year, $33.25 million contract.
