NHL: The Kings' ordeal continues

Nothing is going well for the Los Angeles Kings, who lost 4-3 in overtime to the St. Louis Blues at Enterprise Center on Sunday.

This defeat is the seventh in a row for the Californian team. Todd McLellan's team also suffered a 14th defeat in their last 16 games.

Brayden Schenn gave the local favorites the win by beating David Rittich with a wrist shot with 3:56 left in overtime.

The visitors can only blame themselves as they took a one-goal lead twice during the game. Adrian Kempe scored the first goal in the first half, but Nick Leddy then brought the two teams back on level terms.

After Jaret Anderson-Dolan's shorthanded success, the Blues scored two unanswered goals thanks to Pavel Buchnevich and Jordan Kyrou. Former CH Phillip Danault's goal in the final moments of the second period forced overtime.

Los Angeles is now just one point ahead of the Nashville Predators, who are the No. 1 undrafted team in the Western Conference. The Blues now have the same number of points (54) as their rivals on the day.

Anze Kopitar's teammates will also face the Predators on Wednesday. St. Louis will be back in action on Tuesday against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
