“Nobody Was Hungry”: A cop arrests a delivery man…then ends his delivery

An Illinois woman ordering food last week got quite a surprise when a police officer showed up at the door with her order after her delivery driver was arrested following a roadside check.

“He got arrested, but I wanted to make sure you got your food. Have a great evening, people!” Officer Milner exclaimed in a doorbell camera video shared by the Kane County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday.

In the post shared on Facebook and reported by the New York Post, Sheriff Ron Hain himself congratulated the agent on fulfilling the order after arresting Doordash delivery man Abrahan J. Salazar Salas.

“My police officers are always there. After having to stop a food delivery person, he carried out the order to ensure no one went hungry,” he noted.

The man was allegedly handcuffed for unspecified crimes, Amy Johnson, chief of the police public information division, told Fox News.

If the recipient of the order initially worried about the condition of her delivery driver when she saw the uniformed officer at her door and thought he might have been the victim of an accident, she quickly found her smile again when he heard the short explanations.

“You are great! THANK YOU!” she said, according to the video.

In the publication's comments, netizens applauded the gesture while betting that the police officer probably gave the client “a brief fright.”

But “the cop really kept the 'giving up' in 'serve and protect,'” another started.
