Notice from the Consulate in Havana: Appointments for tourist visas can be requested Directorio

The Spanish Consulate General in Havana has released a notice to the Cuban community residing on the island regarding tourist visa dates.

A few days ago, the consular section warned in a statement that appointments for Schengen visas at official organizations would be made “exclusively for ministries and official organizations authorized by the Spanish consulate in Havana”.

“People with an appointment for this agenda will NOT be served at the window and their user will be banned,” they warned via Twitter.

However, this Friday they announced that people “can still request appointments for a Schengen visa via the ‘Book an Appointment for a Schengen Visa’ link”.

“News awaited for almost a month” and “If you don’t send usernames and passwords you won’t be able to access” were two of the messages they wrote to the consulate.

In May 2022, the Spanish consulate in Havana opened appointments for tourist visas after its offices closed due to the health crisis. This is one of the most demanding procedures.

TOURIST VISA FOR SPAIN AND EUROPE

The Schengen visa is issued to third-country nationals and entitles them to stay up to 90 days (in any 180-day period) in the Schengen area.

It is issued for tourism, business, family visits, medical reasons, to carry out studies, extra-professional internships or voluntary work of a maximum duration of 90 days or for other charitable activities.

Before starting the process of applying for a Schengen tourist visa for Spain and Europe, Cubans must gather all the necessary documents to complete the procedure.

To make an appointment, interested parties must first register in the system and send an email to [email protected] and providing all the details specified in that link.

Once you have received a confirmation email with your username and password, you will need to select the date and time of your appointment by clicking on ‘Book an Appointment for a Schengen Visa’ on the consulate’s page.
