Niagara IceDogs forward Alex Assadourian has been suspended indefinitely by the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OHL) for an action he committed last Friday.
In the final moments of the third period of a 10-0 loss to the Kingston Frontenacs, the 18-year-old hockey player received a penalty for striking with a stick.
When Assadourian arrived in the cell, he looked at Frontenacs forward Luke McNamara and made a gesture that mimicked cutting a throat. He also said, “That’s you [sacre] dead”.
The next day, the OHL suspended the center indefinitely.
