Amy Schumer said she was happy with the liposuction procedure.
The 40-year-old comic, who will co-host the upcoming Oscars with Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall later this month, described the procedure in Chelsea Handler’s Dear Chelsea podcast.

“When I heard liposuction, I was like, it’s so crazy for me and I’d say I’ll never do anything.”
The Trainwreck actress said that after “turning 40” and “having a cesarean section” and having her uterus and appendix removed as a result of endometriosis pain, liposuction has become a viable option.

Schumer described the procedure in an Instagram post on January 18, in which she thanked medical professionals who helped her regain her strength through liposuction and endometriosis surgery.

Schumer told Handler about her public outspokenness about health procedures: “I just wanted to say this because if someone sees me in pictures or something, she looks weaker and whatever: it’s because I had surgery.”
“I feel good,” she said. “Finally … I never thought I would do anything but talk to me after your uterus didn’t shrink for 2.5 years and you turned 40.”

“It’s too hard and I just want to be real about it.”
In the podcast, Sumer talks about his efforts with Fischer to have another child through the IVF process, saying, “We tried and it didn’t work – and now I don’t have a uterus.”
Sumer said she felt “sad” that they could not have more children, but she focused on enjoying [their] small family.
“We tried and we’ll just have a perfect, little charming angel,” Sumer said.
Sumer is starring in the upcoming Life & Beth show with Michael Serra and Violet Young. The show will premiere on Hulu on March 18.
