“No weapon can stop this message,” Ben-Adir’s Marley said in the clip for the iconic song Three Little Birds.

The film synopsis reads: “Bob Marley: One Love celebrates the life and music of an icon who inspired generations through his message of love and unity.”

“For the first time on the big screen, discover Bob’s powerful story of overcoming adversity and the journey behind his revolutionary music.”

Marley died of cancer in 1981 at just 36 years old.

Directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green from a screenplay by Zach Baylin, Frank E. Flowers and Terence Winter, the teaser also featured scenes of Marley relaxing with his family and playing music for them.

In addition to Ben-Adir and Lynch, the film's cast also includes James Norton, Tosin Cole, Anthony Welsh, Michael Gandolfini, Umi Myers and Nadine Marshall.

Filming began in December 2022 in London, England and ended in the spring.

Bob Marley pioneered the reggae music genre, incorporating elements of ska and rocksteady to create his own form of world music that he believed was “for the people.”

During his illustrious career, Marley recorded 13 studio albums, starting with The Wailing Wailers (1965) and ending with Confrontation (1983), the only album released posthumously.

Last year, Ziggy Marley, 54, Bob's eldest son, took to Instagram to talk about the upcoming biopic.

He shared a promotional image with his 1.4 million followers and began with a lengthy caption: “First official trailer for @bobmarley @onelovemovie drops tomorrow.”

“Nothing happens until that happens, and now it’s time for the story of our father Bob Marley to be told in a biopic theatrical release next month.”

“You've heard the music and you think you know the man, but really understand what he went through and the moments that made him the person he became,” he teased.

He added: “Directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green and starring Kingsley Ben Adir as Bob and Lashana Lynch as his wife Rita, in this film you will experience for the first time what it was like to be close to the legend and his pain to see 'sorrows, his joys and his salvation.'

The note continued: “Filmed in England and Jamaica, the cast and crew represent one of the most unique creations to ever emerge from a Hollywood studio.”

“Authenticity fills the screen with numerous Jamaican actors who make us proud to represent the culture.”

Bob's first-born son noted that the film was shot “in the actual places where Bob walked, played football and sang, such as Trench Town and Bull Bay in Kingston.”

He said it was “an artistic creation that we are proud of and intended to bring you joy, entertainment but also inspiration.”
