Phil Kessel back soon?

Phil Kessel still doesn't have a contract to play in the National Hockey League (NHL) in 2023-2024, but that wouldn't stop the former player from playing a few games to stay in shape.

Kessel, a 36-year veteran, would obviously like to play on the Bettman circuit, but he wouldn't rule out the option of playing in Switzerland.

At least that's what TSN journalist Pierre Lebrun revealed on Saturday on the social network X.

“Phil Kessel, who is an unrestricted free agent, is still waiting for an opportunity in the NHL and that door is still not closed,” he said. But now I heard that he was thinking about playing a few games in the Swiss league. Nothing has been decided yet.”

Kessel won the Stanley Cup with the Vegas Golden Knights last season. With 992 points since the start of his career, he is very close to the 1,000-point plateau in the NHL.
