The Montreal National Day host recalled that when the potential owner at the time was looking for his very first Montreal apartment in the early 2000s, he refused to go ahead with his candidacy and is black. A completely unacceptable situation that still happens too often.

The animator of the next Twins then revealed to Melanie Maynard to have once again become a victim of racism, and only a few weeks ago.

In fact, while he was enjoying himself at a bar with some friends, a visibly “drunk” man approached him and clearly stated his intention to “break his mouth open”. Pierre-Yves explained that the man made gestures to underline his words, thus underscoring the violence of his intentions.

He quickly realized that the reason for this completely unfounded act of violence was the color of his skin:
“He clearly made me feel and understand that my presence bothered him and that it was clearly related to the color of my skin.”

After this incident, Pierre-Yves left the scene and his friends, as a precaution, insisted that he take a taxi before letting him go alone, fearing that the person in question would be waiting for him at the bar exit.
An alarming situation that is more than upsetting.
