The war between independent drug traffickers and the Hells Angels may be the reason for the disappearance of a 28-year-old man in Saguenay.
A worried mother from Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean searches for her son, who may be in danger.
The Saguenay Police Department (SPS) announced the suspicious disappearance of 28-year-old Michael Chouinard on Wednesday evening.
“The police have reason to fear for his safety,” the SPS said in a press release.
According to information from TVA Nouvelles, it could be a kidnapping linked to organized crime. Drug trafficking could also be involved.
Police would not confirm whether the missing person is currently in custody, but information obtained suggests that this is the case.
The missing man's mother also published a cry for help on social networks.
Given the recent events in Saint-Malachie, the police remain on alert.
Chouinard, a dealer, would have already worked for the Saguenéen All Boivin, which was previously wanted for a large-scale anti-drug operation. Boivin, an independent, is also in conflict with the Hells in Saguenay. Boivin is now one of the most wanted criminals in Quebec.
It is possible to witness an episode similar to that in Saint-Malachie.
Citizens who may have information that could further the investigation can contact police at 418 699-6000.
In order not to endanger the efforts of the investigators and the safety of the missing person, no further information will be disclosed for the time being.
