Prince Harry opened up about his secret meeting with his grandmother Queen Elizabeth late last week after visiting her en route to the Invictus Games in Windsor, The Sun reported.
The Duke of Sussex made a stopover in the UK while traveling to the Netherlands with his wife Meghan Markle for the sporting event and said it was “great to see her (Queen)”.
Speaking to the BBC on Monday, Prince Harry revealed the 95-year-old monarch had sent him messages for the British veterans attending the Invictus Games.
“She had a lot of messages for Team UK, which I’ve already forwarded…” Harry shared.
He added that the Queen would have traveled to the Games if her health had allowed; The monarch has struggled with mobility issues and exhaustion after contracting COVID-19 earlier this year.
Prince Harry closed; “It was great to see her and I’m sure she would love to be here if she could.”
Harry and Meghan’s most recent meeting with the Queen marked their first meeting with the monarch since March 2020, when they stepped down from their roles as senior royals.
They were last seen with the Queen during the Commonwealth Day service on March 8, 2020.
