Prince Harry would reportedly consider mending the royal rift and returning to his royal duties if King Charles, 75, asked him to do so amid the monarch's cancer diagnosis.

Harry, 39, and his wife Meghan Markle, 42, famously stepped down as senior members of the royal family in 2020. He remains a state councilor – and is fifth in line for the crown – but is unlikely to be called upon to stand in for the king after making California his home.

A royal insider told Page Six on Friday: “I find it hard to believe that Harry would say no if his father asked him for help. I think he would try.”

However, the source noted: “I don’t think Harry would ask that [to do] self-employed.”

The Post has contacted representatives of Harry and Buckingham Palace for comment.

Harry broke his silence on Charles' diagnosis on Friday “Good morning America.”

While packed up in Canada training for his Invictus Games, Harry told reporter-host Will Reeve that he learned of his estranged father's diagnosis through a conversation with him.

“I jumped on a plane and went to see him as quickly as I could,” he explained, referring to his 24-hour trip to London last week to see his ailing father.

“I love my family. The fact that I could get on a plane and visit him and spend time with him at any time – I'm grateful for that,” he added.

When Reeve asked him for his opinion on Charles' health, Harry replied: “That's up to him.”

However, King Charles' ex-butler Grant Harrold told The Post exclusively on Friday that the royal “won't be happy” about Harry's revelations.

“If Harry has a big discussion about anything, it's possible the royals won't be overjoyed,” Harrold revealed.

“I have no idea why Harry feels the need to speak out, that's what I don't understand. Let’s say if it upsets the royal family then Harry will only upset them more.”

Harrold continued: “In the role of devil's advocate, Harry could have asked his family if they would be okay with him speaking about it publicly, but I don't see that, and based on my own experiences with the family, I can't either realize that this happened.” .”

“I don't think William and the King will be happy with Harry's interview. Even though the king has already shared some information about his diagnosis, he remains very private,” he added.
