Russia points Ukraine to drone attack on Moscow

The city of Moscow was shaken this Tuesday by the large-scale drone strikes it suffered this morning, which the Kremlin blamed on Ukraine.

Shortly after the events, Vladimir Putin said, according to an RT report, that Kiev “chosen the path of terrorist activities” and attacks on civilians.

Russia had confirmed that its anti-aircraft defenses shot down eight planes before they reached their targets earlier this morning. The attacks left no casualties or significant damage.

In this regard, the Russian President pointed out that “the Kiev regime has chosen a different path, namely the path of intimidating Russia, intimidating Russian citizens and attacking residential buildings” in response to the recent attack by Russian forces on a military headquarters. Ukrainian military intelligence.

“Of course, this is a clear sign of terrorist activity,” Putin said, adding that Kiev was trying to provoke a reaction from Moscow.

“We’ll see what we can do about it,” he said.

The attacks on Moscow came after Kiev was bombed for the third time, forcing thousands of its residents to spend the night in bomb shelters.

Although they did not hide their satisfaction with the events in the Russian capital, the Ukrainian authorities denied having any direct involvement in the events.

“Of course we are happy to be able to observe and predict an increase in the number of attacks. But of course we have nothing directly to do with it,” said Ukrainian presidential aide Mykhailo Podolyak, quoted by BBC Mundo.

Earlier this month, drones were shot down over the Kremlin, home of the Russian presidency. A few days later there were attacks and invasions of land in border towns with Ukraine.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine began on February 24, 2023 under the name of a “special military operation”. The aim, according to the Kremlin, is to “denazify” Ukraine and prevent NATO from reaching its borders, while Kiev accuses Moscow of wanting to appropriate Ukrainian territory.
