What happened
While donations were poured in to fund the sisters’ funeral. Mary McGovernShe, who is organizing the fundraiser, wrote on crowdfunding site GoFundMe: “The family has decided to celebrate both girls’ funerals together, which will also be difficult financially at the worst time of their lives.”
A few days after her sister’s death, Shavana told friends about it Facebook who was struggling with her pain: “I’m experiencing the worst that could have happened to me, I miss my ‘twin’ so much.”
A Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed the deaths: “A 26-year-old woman was found dead in a flat in Granton Medway, Edinburgh on 12 February 2023” and then “A 21-year-old woman died in a flat in Cameron House Avenue, Edinburgh , on March 3, 2023».
A spokesman for the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service said: “The Procurator Fiscal has received an alert regarding the death of a 26-year-old woman in Edinburgh on 12 February 2023. The investigation into the deathled by the Scottish Fatalities Investigation Unit, is underway and the family will continue to be kept informed of any significant developments.”
