The Ministry of Health identified the deceased as Mohammad Wael Ghazawi, Majd Mohammad Huseinieh, Tareq Ziad Natour, Ziad Amin Zareini, Abdul Fattah Hussein Khrousheh and Mutasem Nasser Sabbagh.
Two of the 11 injured are in serious condition, one shot in the chest and one in the pelvis, according to the portfolio report.
After the massacre, Palestinian Presidential Spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeina blamed the deaths on Tel Aviv’s armed forces and blamed that country for the aftermath.
“The crime committed by the occupiers reinforces the Israeli government’s intention to thwart all regional and international efforts aimed at stopping their unilateral actions,” he said.
For its part, the army said in a statement that the attack was aimed at a Palestinian accused of killing two Israeli brothers on February 26 near the town of Hawara, which was burned down by Jewish settlers in retaliation after the incident.
Jenin and the neighboring city of Nablus are considered strongholds of Palestinian militias and thus systematic targets of Tel Aviv’s military operations.
Eleven people were killed in a raid in the Jenin refugee camp at the end of January, and another ten in Nablus on February 22.
