In the opioid thriller, out in limited U.S. theaters/VOD this Friday, the Southern California native portrays Allison, the troubled wife of Nebraska-born 45-year-old OxyContin-addict character Michael.
“I had to have routine surgery and I was prescribed OxyContin and I kind of got addicted and it was really hard to get off of it,” Bryan explained to Us Weekly on Tuesday.
“I wondered how a system was created to turn innocent people like me into addicts.” I just wanted to understand why seemingly good people do these terrible things. I was really more interested in the characters than the opioid part. It was the people I was more interested in, situated in this opioid world.”
Greenberg continued, “I really wanted to explore that and explore why you do the wrong thing for the right reasons.” The doctor who prescribed it [the pills] doesn't want to see her patients suffering anymore.
“This is a real, real problem.” And pain is subjective and your level of pain is different than my level of pain. So when someone says they’re at 10 and they want to prescribe them, they don’t want their patients to suffer.”
Meanwhile, Jamie showed off her midriff and legs in an ankle-length sheer tank dress with matching pumps.
