Almost 60,000 liters of red wine, worth an estimated 2.5 million euros, were lost at a renowned winery in the Ribera del Duero region of central Spain after a person was introduced into open tanks there, depending on the victim of the act of sabotage.

Video surveillance images provided to AFP by this “bodega” (winery), Cepa 21, show a person in a hooded jacket walking from one tank to another to open it, taking with him the wine inside controlled designation of origin.
The events occurred around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday at this wine company based in Castrillo de Duero, near Valladolid (north of Madrid), the company said.
A total of 60,000 liters or 80,000 bottles of this top vintage were lost, said Cepa 21, which filed a complaint.
In addition to the economic loss, “it is an attack on the workers of Cepa 21, on our winemakers who fight for the best grapes,” complained the company's president, José Moro, on Spanish public television on Tuesday. (TVE) .
“It means doing harm for the sake of doing harm, on the part of a person who does not have to be very balanced, without common sense and full of hatred,” he ruled.
“Everything indicates that this person knew where he was,” he added, indicating that he had sent a list of suspects to the Guardia Civil, which confirmed to AFP that they had opened an investigation.
