12:00 Petra Bayr, SPÖ spokesperson for foreign policy and global development, takes part in the memorial event of the Permanent Mission of Israel to the United Nations and UNIS (United Nations Information Service) at the Vienna International Center (VIC). The event is supported by the “United Nations Holocaust Outreach Programme” and the UK Permanent Mission to the United Nations (Vienna International Centre).

6:00 pm The 2nd Prof. Symposium takes place. Rudolf Gelbard under the title “Dialogue of Religions”. The “Dialogue of Religions” represents an important platform that brings together people of different religions to promote understanding, tolerance and cohesion. In this context, the educational legacy of Prof. Rudolf Gelbard, a Holocaust survivor who, after his release, was intensely committed to raising awareness of Nazi crimes. 19:00 As part of the event series “Changes in the Middle East/Arab”, curated by Gudrun Harrer, Eckart Woertz (Director of the GIGA Institute for Middle Eastern Studies in Hamburg and Professor of Contemporary History and Middle Eastern Politics at the University of Hamburg ) will give a lecture on the topic “Wheat, weapons, resistance: Russia’s policy towards the Middle East after the wars in Ukraine and Gaza”.
