Head coach Gregg Popovich became the NBA’s all-time leader in regular season wins after the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Utah Jazz. 104-102 at home Friday from the AT&T Center.

The 73-year-old kicked off the day tied for first with Don Nelson. 1335 wins. He already owns the NBA coaching record, including the playoffs with 1,526 wins.

Earlier this season, Popovich became the first head coach in NBA history to manage the same team for 2,000 or more games. He earned the honor after the Spurs defeated the Boston Celtics 99–97 on January 5.
He has been in charge of Spurs since 1996. They made the playoffs every year from 1998 to 2019. This mark in 22 consecutive playoff seasons is an NBA record.
San Antonio also won five NBA Finals and six Western Conference titles during Popovich’s tenure. He hit 1,336-694 over 26 seasons, enough for a .658 winning percentage.
