Superman: Legacy, James Gunn breaks silence about the hero's new costume. And it triggers the fans’ hype Best Film

Superman: LegacyThe long-awaited film that will bring the new DC universe to the big screen will not be released until the summer of 2025. However, since its announcement there has been talk of the new version of the costume that this new incarnation of the Man of Steel will wear.

The look of Superman's costume is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated and discussed elements by fans, as well as by the candidates chosen for the role of David Corenswet. Topics that he has addressed again in the last few hours James Gunn on his social channels, where he i first clues on Kal-El's iconic costume.

A fan on Threads asked the director if the hero's new look will be “more classic, modern or something completely new and different.” For his part, Gunn responded without unbuttoning himself too much and didn't give up arouse curiosity from enthusiasts:

“It will be everything you said. In principle the costume is now finished. We're just cleaning up the final details

It therefore seems that in the new costume some brand new elements are proposed, skillfully integrated into the more classic elements. Among these, it now seems almost certain that they will return triumphantly iconic red briefs abandoned during the reign of Henry Cavill.

This thesis is also supported by the fact that James Gunn openly quoted Christopher Reeve's legendary film “Superman”. Source of inspiration for his vision of the character. A few months ago, Gunn actually put it this way:

«How do you make it believable? How can you turn this outrageous concept of a flying man into something real? I think what we do is different. It's its own thing. But it was me definitely influenced from what Richard Donner did with Superman in 1978 and what Christopher Reeve did with the character.”

Superman: Legacy, written and directed by James Gunn, will feature the cast David Corenswet (Clark Kent/Superman), Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor), Sara Sampaio (Eve Teschmacher), Anthony Carrigan (Metamorpho), Edi Gathegi (Mr. Terrific), Nathan Fillon (Guy Gardner), Isabela Mercad (Hawkgirl), Maria Gabriela de Faria (Angela Spica / engineer) e Sean Gunn (Maxwell Lord).
