Taylor Swift returns to number one on the Australian Music Charts

Taylor Swift has topped the Australian music charts again – by naming herself the number one sport.

Her latest album release, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), debuted at number one on the ARIA chart this week, knocking out her previous album Midnights from the position.

According to ARIA, Taylor is the first artist to receive this award since the ARIA chart began in 1983.

Taylor actually broke another record by occupying the entire top five, with Speak Now, Midnights, Lover, 1989 and Reputation rounding out the rest of the charts.

Following closely behind are Folklore and Red (Taylor’s version), with the pop star completely dominating the top ten.

This made the album the most-streamed album in a single day in 2023, just 24 hours after its release last Friday.

Her single Cruel Summer was also at number four this week – and she currently has a whopping 20 songs on Australia’s top 50 singles chart.

The 33-year-old pop superstar is coming to Sydney for four nights next February and will be on stage in Melbourne for three nights.

Demand for tickets was unprecedented as Ticketek announced Wednesday’s presale had seen more people trying to buy tickets to an artist than ever before.

Over 800,000 fans logged on to snag tickets to their Australian tour, while the ticketing website said it had blocked half a billion bots.

It’s clear that Taylor has a huge following in Australia, and she’s also previously claimed that her fans Down Under are her “favorite fans”.

Following advance bookings for Taylor’s Australian tour, an additional date in Sydney and Melbourne was added due to popular demand.
