Anne Heche died this Friday as a victim of a traffic accident. The obituaries remind us of who was a Hollywood star up until 1997, the year she took a step forward to bring her then-partner Ellen DeGeneres to the Vulcano preview. It seemed that a lesbian playing a straight (even if Heche was bisexual) was hardly believable. Heche’s career has come to a halt. It didn’t help either, breaking up with Ellen in 2000, who shares with Encarna Sánchez the rare distinction of having no one to speak well of her.
There have been several black hands in Heche’s career. One of them lived in Anne herself, but the rest interfered with the real world.
His last studio film Six Days Seven Nights wasn’t a flop, on the contrary it did quite well. Therefore I can concur with the assertion that his fall was provoked.
There are many rumours, many stories about who wields the black hand; Who hasn’t heard one? In all lands there are vengeful tyrants who wreak havoc on their chosen ones. But I’ll share one thing I’ve learned here: Nobody falls while giving money. Whether it’s someone eating a newborn child, clawing out an old man’s eye, or raping a couple of teenagers… if it makes money, it will move on and, worse, everyone will be able to comfortably look elsewhere when the satrap continues, on stomping heads. The only appropriate moment to recognize the worth of someone who has been taken out of the limelight is their death. Look: If you know someone in this situation, help them. Get up, raise your voice. Scream if necessary. It seems to be in the past, but this situation in 1997 seemed to be from other times as well. Circumstances change, but power relations are immutable.
