the episode (3) in which Montreal competes

It must have been six years since I kept telling myself that I needed to release a podcast. Firstly, to have fun – because that's the fun of being on the microphone with the right people – but also because I think I'm able to offer something that doesn't exist elsewhere. Traditional media has its uses… but podcasts and independent websites bring freshness to the mix. There is room for everyone.

I have (FINALLY) had an epiphany in January: If I could convince my old friend – and then-competitor – Jean Trudel to show up again and host an uninhibited sports podcast at my side, I had what it took.

Let's say it didn't take long to convince JT. I'd say it took three or four seconds maximum…

We therefore decided to collaborate with 9 Millions, a new digital box from Quebec, and spontaneously publish a first episode. The response was immediate and damn good, which convinced us to start a 10-part test run. Then we'll see where we stand.

Last night we posted the third episode online (recorded the day before), in which Vince Cauchon, Quebec City's top sports columnist, agreed to appear. Big love and respect to Vince who made the return trip from Quebec to Montreal as soon as he finished his morning show on NRJ Quebec.

The episode is here:

What are we talking about?

From a social media guy who was hired by the Canadiens and then fired for talking to the media too much…

By Bob McKenzie, Darren Dreger and Renaud Lavoie, who mainly publish information that the teams like…

From the time JT slept next to Bokondji Imama…

Of the worst false rumor spread about 25Stanley at the time…

From where to go for brunch in Montreal if you want to meet the Canadiens players…

From the man (Mitch) the Canadian hired to oversee the team's young players (thanks to Réjean Tremblay and Max Lalonde for mentioning our news on the air this morning)…

From the evening with Jeff Gorton and an Avalanche recruiter at a bar in Montreal…

From my video shoot with GSP in 2010…

On the possibility of watching a CFL team in Quebec…

How Quebecers are tired of hearing about Montreal…

By Jeff Fillion and Quebec Radio…

From the guy from the Islanders who wanted Frenchman Vince Cauchon in a New York bar a few years ago…

How Pierre-Karl Péladeau is hurting the Nordiques' return…

And how the people of Quebec digest the news of the new roof of the Olympic Stadium for 870 million!

Most popular French-language podcast in Canada
I was curious this morning and checked to see if our podcast was being listened to on Spotify. It's always more fun to use the microphone (and camera) when you know there are people listening (or watching) you.

Seriously, what did I get?

Stanley25 is the 15th most popular podcast in Canada on Spotify…behind 14 English-language podcasts. In short, we have been the most listened to podcast of all French podcasts in Canada for several days. Not just about sports or hockey!

It makes no sense!

I just wanted to thank you for your support and your good comments. I have the impression that we won't stop at 10 with this project…

A little foretaste for next week: We will have a very special guest. Seriously, this won't make sense either! #UnGarsQuiADeLImpact

Mucho, I love boys (and girls)!

Much

– It’s really nice… but it costs $216!?

– Lawn at Place Bell for a lacrosse match.

– Wow! No fewer than two million people have subscribed to the MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
