Apple has released the iOS 17.1 update for the iPhone as well as the iPadOS 17.1 update for its tablets. An update that brings some new features, but is primarily intended to fix bugs in iOS 17.
The iOS 17 update for the iPhone in September 2023 brought many new features, but also some bugs and problems.
Apple has therefore been working on the solution and has been offering a beta version of iOS 17.1 since September 28th.
Several developers have mentioned that several bugs have been fixed, particularly in the interface but also in battery life.
Good news in itself, but in addition to the security fixes, we also find some new features with this update!
What’s new in iOS 17.1?
iOS 17.1 and iPadOS 17.1 don’t necessarily bring revolutionary features, but small additions that improve the overall experience on our devices.
First AirDrop, which allows you to transfer larger files, but also via iCloud. This means that if we initiate a transfer to a colleague and they have to leave, the transfer will continue via iCloud.
Apple Music also includes a new small star icon on the lock screen. This allows us to quickly identify a song we like.
For the locked screen, you can still select a photo album to populate the photos on that screen.
Finally, if you have an iPhone 12, the update corrects the electromagnetic wave emission, which was found to be too high by the French National Frequency Authority (ANFR).
