The Portuguese dog Bobi loses the title of the oldest dog in the world

The Guinness Book of Records has stripped the Portuguese Bobi of the title of oldest dog in the world. The famous “Rafeiro Alentejano” (this is the name of the special breed that comes from the Alentejo region) was recognized at over 30 years old before he died last October at the age of 31.
According to his owner Leonel Costa, Bobi was actually born on May 11, 1992 and the date was confirmed by the Portuguese Veterinary Association. However, immediately after Bobi's death, the English veterinarians at the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons expressed a certain skepticism about the four-legged friend's venerable age. The Guinness Book of Records therefore launched an investigation. Today its director, Mark Kinley, stated that there was no evidence of Bobi's true date of birth, turning the suspension of the title into a permanent annulment.
