Antena 3 broadcasts the return of a legendary competition in the history of television: Catch a Million. In La 2 Thematic Night offers two documentaries that analyze the economic and political conditions of the Nazis. For its part, DMAX broadcasts a new date with the documentary series 091: Police Alert. As for the cinema, a masterpiece of adventurous cinema, “The Man Who Could Reign”, and a wonderful prison drama, “The Legend of the Indomitable” appear.
“The Legend of the Indomitable”
5:45 p.m., TCM
Cool hand Luke. USA, 1967 (120 minutes). Director: Stuart Rosenberg. Cast: Paul Newman, George Kennedy, Strother Martin, JD Cannon.
A great example of prison cinema, in which an excellent Paul Newman takes on the role of a rebellious and non-conformist prisoner who makes his successive escape attempts his only reason for existence. Told with a firm hand, the film remains young despite some somewhat naive moments thanks to a production of surprising power. The sequence in which the protagonist eats 50 eggs after a bet with another prisoner is nevertheless surprising in its narrative impetus.
Another date with police work
9 p.m., DMAX
The documentary series 091: Police Alert on DMAX continues its efforts to show the everyday life of various units of the National Police. On this occasion, officers will be tasked with investigating human trafficking in various locations. In addition, the force will work with firefighters to attempt to extinguish the fire in the middle of the night in a building where illegal connections to the light were detected, a very common cause in emergencies of this type.
“The man who could rule”
10 p.m., Movistar Classics
The man who would be king. UK-USA, 1975 (130 minutes). Director: John Huston. Cast: Sean Connery, Michael Caine, Christopher Plummer.
The Man Who Would Be King, the culmination of John Huston's adventurous spirit, draws on a story by Kipling to become a magical film, as well as a new foray by the director into the territory of lost and disillusioned characters caught up in illusions and nurture dignity. The striking visuals of The Man Who Would Be King follow two villains as they are forced to confront the dark side of their dreams of fame and power.
The Catch a Million competition returns
10 p.m., antenna 3
Manel Fuentes leads the return of an iconic television competition. The new Atrapa Unmillions programs maintain the mechanics that made the format famous, putting one million euros of cash at risk in each installment of the program. Participants must answer eight questions. The first four have four possible answers, but only one is the good one. The next three questions have three answer options and the eighth and final question only has two options, one true and one false.
The economic and political framework of the Nazis
11:40 p.m., La 2
