Ultraportables are ideal machines for those who don’t work in a sedentary position all the time. Lightweight, compact, yet powerful, these take-anywhere models are designed with productivity in mind. This is the case, for example, with the Asus Zenbook 14, whose performance is perfect for office tasks, for example. At the moment, fortunately, it is not as expensive as before, benefiting from a promotion of 200 euros.

The key points of the Asus Zenbook 14

  • A compact and lightweight ultraportable
  • Good performance
  • Proper autonomy

Originally priced at €899, the Asus Zenbook 14 UM425QA-KI194W is now on sale at Rue du Commerce for €699.

A lightweight machine that you can take anywhere

The Zenbook series from Asus is generally characterized by its elegant and simple design. The Zenbook 14 model (UM425QA-KI194W) is no exception. This ultra-portable features a dark gray metal frame that doesn’t weigh the scales down very heavily as its weight doesn’t exceed 1.3kg with a thickness of just 15.8mm. We are therefore entitled to a very light machine that can easily be transported on the go.

This Asus Zenbook 14 will not be bulky either, since, as the name suggests, it has a 14-inch panel, a diagonal quite enough to comfortably read all the information on the screen without sacrificing a huge device to get stuck. Specifically, this screen is a Full HD NanoEdge panel (i.e. a derivative of an IPS panel) that promises good brightness and pleasant sharpness. In addition, we benefit from a screen-to-body ratio of 90%, thanks in particular to very thin screen borders, which significantly increases visual comfort. Otherwise, this Asus Zenbook features an ErgoLift hinge that automatically raises the back of the computer to tilt the keyboard to a more comfortable angle. There will be exactly one NumPad on this keyboard: it is a numeric keypad that lights up thanks to a network of LEDs.

Good daily performance

With its AMD Ryzen 5 5600H processor (clocked at 3.3 GHz with boost up to 4.2 GHz) and 16 GB of soldered RAM, the Asus Zenbook 14 delivers excellent performance for classic office tasks. Or to watch a few series episodes on its well-made screen. An AMD Radeon Vega 8 chip handles the graphics part. So it’s not a machine that’s made for gaming, but for productivity and mobile working. In addition, the laptop has a 512 GB M.2 SSD, which, in addition to a more than comfortable storage capacity, also ensures shorter loading times and faster machine starts to save valuable time. Windows 11 is also already available on the laptop.

As for connectivity, the Asus Zenbook 14 with its USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port, its USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, its HDMI port, its microSD card reader and its 3.5mm jack fairly well equipped port. Wi-Fi 6 is also included. Regarding the autonomy of this model, the brand promises a useful life of up to 15 hours, but of course this duration varies depending on the purpose of use. Asus also ensures that the battery of its Zenbook 14 can be charged to 60% in less than 50 minutes.
