A suspected murder committed in Matoury last night. The victim is a man who was killed with a bladed weapon. His body lay on the edge of the RN2, a few hundred yards past the village of Sainte Rose de Lima. According to information gathered by the gendarmerie on site last night, the police were alerted shortly after 10:30 p.m.
The investigation was entrusted to the research department of the Gendarmerie
At 8am this morning, the Macouria gendarmes were alerted after a body was discovered in an apartment in Soula.
Arriving on the scene, they discover the death of a woman in her 30s who has suffered multiple stab wounds. The Kourou research brigade is tasked with investigating, and the gendarmes are informed that the suspected perpetrator has fled in his vehicle.
From the La Chaumière junction to Kourou, a device is set up to challenge him. Shortly thereafter, at the coffee roundabout in Kourou, police were confronted with the refusal of a driver whose vehicle matched that of the alleged perpetrator of Soula’s murder. After a chase in the streets of Kourou, the suspect is arrested and taken into custody. In his 20s, he could be the victim’s partner or former partner…
