Ukraine and Russia report attacks and explosions

Ukraine and Russia reported renewed attacks from opposing sides and several explosions. Russia fired 17 rockets of different types and 31 Iranian Shahed-136/131 kamikaze drones at Ukraine, the Air Force said on Friday in Kiev. Ten cruise missiles and 23 Shahed drones and two reconnaissance drones were shot down, he said. Also in Russia there were reports of attacks by Ukrainians.

Russian attacks, which again hit the capital Kiev, lasted until five in the morning. Air alerts went off across the country that night.

Ukrainian authorities said there were impacts in Ukraine in the Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions. In Dnipro, the military administration reported explosions. Two businesses, a gas station and a home were damaged. An employee at a gas station was injured. Russia attacked massively with missiles and drones, he said.

Also in Kiev, anti-aircraft defense was active again because of rocket launches. The head of Kiev’s military administration, Serhiy Popko, said fragments from a missile launch had damaged the roof of a shopping and entertainment centre. A house was hit elsewhere. Cars in a parking lot were also damaged. There are no injuries, Popko said.

New attacks from the neighboring country were reported on Russian territory near the border with Ukraine. So, there was an explosion in the city of Krasnodar after an alleged drone strike. According to authorities, an office building and a residential building were hit. Also in the Belgorod region, recently rocked by fighting, there were reports of renewed bombings in the border town of Graivoron. Heavily armed fighters with military technology penetrated there on Monday from the Ukrainian side. More than 70 attackers were “destroyed”, the Defense Ministry in Moscow said.
