“The current madness of Russian leaders brings with it a period of uncertainty and danger for every nation in the world. The world is increasingly sensing and recognizing that more wars could be on the horizon. But we have the strength to stop this.” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in his daily speech. “We have the strength to defend normal life. The world has this power. And this force must act now to stop Russia. I am grateful to everyone who helps. Grateful to everyone who defends Ukraine, who works for Ukraine, who “Remember that the greatest challenge is to give our country every opportunity to drive out the occupiers. The three Baltic states have agreed to equip their borders with Russia and Belarus with “defense facilities” to counter possible military threats related to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Estonian Defense Ministry said. For the first time, Ukrainian military intelligence said it had hit Russia with drones as far away as the region of St. Petersburg, Vladimir Putin's city, almost a thousand kilometers from the front.

Podolyak calls for more weapons: “Putin will not settle for less”
Ukraine is asking its allies for more weapons nearly two years after Russia's invasion began. “At this stage of the war, the problem is that the number of weapons, drones, grenades or artillery shells is not evenly distributed,” said Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak in an interview with Bild, convinced of the need to strengthen Ukraine maximize defense with high-tech weapons. Investments in arms production are necessary, he emphasized, referring to “long-range missiles, drones, grenades or artillery shells” and emphasizing a “large number of weapons”. “The entire front line is 1,300 kilometers long – noted Podolyak, adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky – and the fighting is taking place over 600 to 800 kilometers.” Podolyak spoke of a situation that was described as difficult from a military point of view, since the intensity of the Clashes have not subsided, even though, as he said, there had been no significant progress by Russia for a year.

Microsoft accuses hackers with ties to Russia of targeting the company's emails
Hackers with ties to the Russian government gained access to emails from Microsoft executives. Microsoft announced this in the last few hours, explaining that the attack began at the end of November and was discovered on January 12th. The hackers also downloaded documents attached to emails. “Intrusions,” as disclosed, including in corporate emails from cybersecurity staff and the legal department. Microsoft identified the perpetrator of the attack “as Midnight Blizzard, the Russian state-sponsored actor, also known as Nobelium,” says the company, which had about 221,000 employees as of June last year. It's not clear how many accounts are affected, but Microsoft says it's a “very small percentage.”

Estonia: “EU supplies Ukraine with promised bullets”
“The European Union must keep its promise and provide Ukraine with one million bullets. I am convinced that we can do this if we use our reserves and allocate money for new procurements.” This was said by the Prime Minister of Estonia, Kaja Kallas, at the end of the meeting in Tallinn with the EU Commissioner for the Internal Market, Thierry Breton . Kallas emphasized that Ukraine urgently needs military assistance and that European assistance is a necessary prerequisite for Ukraine to end the war with Russia victoriously. The Estonian Prime Minister also stated that she supports the creation of a 20 billion aid fund for Ukraine within the framework of the European Peace Facility. Kallas also highlighted the need for greater European investment in the defense sector. “I hope that the future defense industry strategy will increase Europe's production capacity and ensure a rapid increase in production in times of crisis,” she said. “The investments of all EU member states in the defense industry must be sufficient to ensure European security and help Ukraine win the war.”

Aiea, “again laid mines in the center of Zaporizhzhia”
The Russian-owned Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine is once again surrounded by mines. This was reported by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). “Mines along the edge of the ZNPP (Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant) … have been repositioned on site,” the UN agency said in a statement. The devices, previously identified by the agency's experts in the area, were removed in November but have now returned, a fact that is “incompatible with IAEA safety standards,” the statement added. The mines are reportedly located in “a restricted area inaccessible to plant operating personnel,” in a buffer zone between the plant’s internal and external fences. The IAEA added that its experts were not granted access to several reactor rooms and some other areas of the plant. “Such access is necessary to monitor nuclear safety and security,” the statement said. IAEA chief Rafael Grossi has repeatedly warned of “ongoing nuclear safety risks at the site.” The power plant was repeatedly rocked by bombings and drone strikes in its surrounding area during the conflict and remained repeatedly isolated from the power grid, raising fears of a possible major nuclear accident.

Zelensky: “Relations with London will remain strong, no matter who is in Downing Street”
Relations between Britain and Ukraine will remain strong no matter who is in Downing Street. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in an interview with Channel 4 News. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak visited Kyiv last week to announce a new $3.2 million military aid package and pledged to continue supporting the country in the fight against Russia. “The United Kingdom has been by our side from the first days until today,” Zelensky said, saying he was sure this would remain the case even if the Tory government was replaced. Zelensky praised Britain’s “strong institutions.” People may have changed, but institutionally and historically, relations between countries need to be saved. “We also have excellent relationships with the secret service,” he assured afterwards. Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine began, Zelensky has met three British prime ministers: Boris Johnson, Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak.
