Meanwhile, a Russian airstrike hit two multistory buildings in Avdiivka, a city in Donetsk Oblast. This was announced by the chief of staff of the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Andriy Yermak, who stated that there were no casualties.
As Oleksii Dmytrashkivskyi, Ukrainian military spokesman, reported a few days ago, the Avdiivka area is currently one of the most active on the Ukrainian front line, but Russian troops are “wearing out”. Russian forces are trying to encircle the city of Avdiivka, believed to be “the second Bakhmut” and attack Mariinka, Dmytrashkivskyi said on national TV, adding that “there have been no territorial losses”.
A front-line city since Russia’s first invasion of Donbass in 2014, Avdiivka is largely devastated. It is just 10 kilometers north of the city center of Russian-occupied Donetsk.
