A Palestinian-American teenager was shot dead by Israeli troops in the West Bank on Friday, Palestinian officials told Portal.
The 17-year-old boy was shot during clashes with Israeli forces, the victim's uncle told Portal.
A State Department spokesman only confirmed to CBS News that a U.S. citizen had died in the West Bank, adding: “We are working to understand the circumstances of the incident and have asked the Israeli government for further information.”
According to Wafa, the Palestinian Authority's official news agency, the boy was shot in the head.

Wafa reported that the shooting took place in a small Palestinian town east of Ramallah. The Israeli Defense Forces did not immediately respond to a Portal request for comment on the incident.
Tensions in the West Bank have increased since Hamas launched its bloody terrorist attack on southern Israel on October 7, sparking the war between Israel and Hamas.
