There are different types of celebrations with animals:

  • The famous Bullfightin which they are taken to the bullring and led by a bullfighter who attempts to stab the animal to the applause of an audience that would normally pay hundreds of euros to watch the scene;
  • And the smaller festivals where… Cops are released onto the streets, in front of an audience trying to avoid being hit by the animal, which is taken along the route to a terminus where it is arrested again. The most famous is San Fermín takes place annually in Pamplona and lasts a week.

The bull, which was the second to run through the streets at the party, had been released seconds earlier. But, Instead of following the normal route, he turned around and faced the victim and a friendwhich were on one of the sides.

She tried to enter a galleryseparated from the road by iron bars to prevent the bull from entering, but they didn’t arrive in time.

The other affected man, a resident of the city, was hospitalized and his condition was stable as of late Monday afternoon (25), according to local authorities.

Also on Monday, the Pacma group, which advocates for animal rights, again called on the Spanish government and local governments to send measures to ban the celebrations to parliament.

“It is time to put an end to the barbarism of bullfighting and the celebration of these cruel festivals with animals,” the group said in a statement, which also called for “respect for the victim and the family.”
