WAR – “All targets hit”. The Russian Defense Ministry said on Sunday, May 14, that it had “touched” locations in Ternopil (west) and Petropavlivka (centre-east) in Ukraine, where in particular western weapons that were shipped to Kiev were stored to repel the Moscow offensive.

The Russian army “launched an attack with high-precision, long-range air and sea weapons (on locations) of Ukrainian armed forces and on places where ammunition, weapons and military equipment from Western countries were stored,” said his spokesman Igor Konashenkov.

Ternopil, in western Ukraine, far from the front lines, is the hometown of the Ukrainian duo who represented Kiev’s colors at the Eurovision Song Contest in England on Saturday night.

The duo, named Tvorchi, wrote on Instagram: Ternopil “was bombarded by Russia as we sang on the Eurovision stage about our strong hearts, our indomitability and our will”. “Europe united against evil for peace,” they added.

The regional authorities reported two wounded in this Russian attack on “warehouses of commercial companies and a religious organization”.

During the same press conference, the Russian defense spokesman announced the deaths of two Russian military officials on the frontlines in Ukraine, a rare announcement from the military hierarchy. Colonels Vyacheslav Makarov and Yevgeny Brovko died “heroically” in Ukraine, Igor Konashenkov welcomed.
