Quebecers will have to take advantage of the nice summer weather this weekend before having to reconnect with winter wear next week as a contrast will drastically lower mercury.
Mercury peaked Thursday in Montreal and Gatineau, which broke 1945 records at 27.9 degrees and 29 degrees, respectively.
Beautiful sunny weather will therefore continue through most of Quebec into the weekend, with temperatures still above normal for the season.
For example, on Saturday it will be 22 degrees in the south of the province, especially in Montreal and in Outaouais, and even more in Estrie, according to Environment Canada forecasts.
In the center of the province, the mercury will not go haywire even when the sun is shining, as the maximum temperatures will not exceed 13 degrees, the federal agency calculates.
However, the same scenario is also expected in areas of eastern Quebec, with transient clouds in some places and lower temperatures, particularly on the north coast.
But as of Tuesday, a depression will bring windy and gloomy weather with showers and cooler temperatures accompanied by wind chill.
