Saturday begins a cloudy and relatively mild weekend in Quebec compared to previous weekends.
In southern Quebec, particularly in Outaouais, Estrie and the Montreal region, freezing drizzle is expected early in the morning, followed by light snow and then clouds throughout the day.
According to Environment Canada, temperatures are expected to hover around 0°C in these areas. In the National Capital Region, skies will be cloudy with some sunny spells.
Icy drizzle is expected in Abitibi-Témiscamingue in the early evening and should continue overnight from Saturday to Sunday.
In Saguenay, clouds will be accompanied by intermittent snowfall throughout the weekend. We expect the most sunshine for the weekend on the north coast and in Gaspésie. Average temperatures of -13°C are forecast in the Sept-Îles region on the north coast.
In Gaspésie, temperatures on Saturday would drop to -6°C on average.
Almost everywhere in Quebec we will experience some mild spell this weekend, which should continue into the beginning of the week, although a cold wind from the north is expected on the north coast on Sunday evening.
