What can peace be like in Ukraine?

Following the failure of the offensive, Ukraine's hope of ever retaking all of its territory illegally occupied by Russia is fading. It will only find protection under the aegis of NATO.

On the second anniversary of the Russian attack on Ukraine, it is time for slogans of perseverance and symbols of solidarity. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen traveled to Kiev along with the Italian prime minister and the heads of government of Canada and Belgium to pledge further financial and military support. Such gestures are not just required by decency. It is in Europe's interests for the Ukrainian army to oppose the invaders. Otherwise, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin will continue his criminal campaign of conquest elsewhere.
