What was the “very bad program that Paulo Vieira and Rafael Portugal auditioned for? TV news

Paulo Vieira won the “Best of 2023” trophy in the humor category and recalled in his acceptance speech that he met Rafael Portugal, one of his competitors, when the two auditioned together for a “very bad program”. He did not reveal the name of the attraction, which made the public curious.

However, in 2018, Vieira and Portugal had already commented on the meeting they had during the audition for the program. Without calling it “very bad” at the time, they revealed that it was an attraction that Ceará comedian Wellington Muniz performed at Multishow.

Vieira received the Paulo Gustavo Trophy, a tribute to the comedian who died in 2021, from his mother, Ms. Déa Lúcia. He enthusiastically appreciated Dona Hermínia's interpreter as one of the biggest names in world comedy and then wanted to praise his competitors in this regard.

“I met Rafael Portugal ten years ago during a test for a very bad program. And we tried to get into the bad program,” he began, while Portugal had tears in his eyes.

“We were so fucked up that the audition ended, we left the studio and I told him, 'Man, I don't have any money to go home.' He said, 'Me neither'. And we came back asking for money” to the owner of the program, like, “We took the test, give us some money to take the bus home,” recalls Vieira.

“I thought it was so symbolic that we were nominated here. I love you, it is a pleasure to be here with you today. You really deserve this trophy here,” said the winner, who also mentioned Fábio Porchat, with whom he worked on the Porchat program (20162018).

In fact, Vieira revealed on the talk show Record the encounter during testing for the Ceará program. In May 2018, Portugal was a guest at an edition and said he had never passed an exam. Porchat's assistant took the opportunity to recall the situation in which they lived together.

“Rafael and I tested together,” he said. “Ô Paulo,” Portugal chimed in, trying to avoid the story. “Test for what?” Porchat asked. “No need to talk, Paulo!” Portugal insisted. However, Vieira ignored his friend and insisted on remembering him.

“When we did a test once, I think it was for a program in Ceará, if I'm not mistaken,” he said. “That’s it,” Portugal agreed annoyed. “And then the test went very far, I asked him how he would go, he said he was expecting the subway. I said: 'There's no subway anymore, no'. So we took two or one to see who would do it. “Ask Ceará for R$50 for the trip home.”

“What do you mean, you went to Ceará to ask for money?” Porchat was shocked. “We went to Ceará to ask for money. We didn't have a cent. We spent money to get there, we did the test, which actually had a scene in the test for which to this day I ask Paulo's forgiveness.” Portugal admitted.
